The Icons Fashion Event offers a behind the scenes look into the world of fashion photography and creative mastery. This multi-day event begins with the Icons of Fashion Shootout on Sunday, August 4th, where attendees will have an opportunity to photograph multiple iconic fashion looks.
On Monday, August 5th, the event continues with a full day workshop presented by Lindsay Adler and special guests AB+DM. This workshop delves into the process of concept development, creative direction, and collaboration required to produce career-defining images. Attendees will watch as AB+DM and Lindsay Adler demonstrate their artistic approaches and share insights into their work with celebrities and prestigious publications.
Lastly, an evening lecture and Q&A offers a rare chance to gain firsthand knowledge from the team behind AB+DM about their skyrocketing careers and acclaimed works.
Please note: Each day is optional, you can select which portions of the event you would like to attend (shootout, workshop, or lecture).
This event is ideal for both beginner photographers and seasoned pros alike who are looking to elevate their skills and gain valuable insight from successful working photographers in the fashion industry.
During this hands-on event, attendees will have the opportunity to photograph 5 iconic fashion looks with each look showcasing a different style or genre of fashion and beauty, ranging from commercial, to editorial and avant garde. Each set will include professional models with exquisite styling, expert lighting, top hair, makeup, and wardrobe.
There is no lecture portion during the shootout. See the workshop (Monday, August 5th) for the education portion of this event.
This workshop will take you behind the scenes with working photographers who are shaping today’s industry and give you a glimpse into creating career-defining imagery that go beyond the norm.
Throughout the day you’ll learn from the brilliant photography duo of AB+DM and the creative mind of Lindsay Adler. During this unique opportunity, these artists will walk you through the process of concept development, creative direction, collaboration, and execution to create iconic works. They will share insights into idea generation, pre-shoot production, and on-set decision making whether working on a test shoot, capturing iconic photos of celebrities, or working with top publications.
Not only will you learn their artistic approach, but you’ll also be able to see them create iconic images during a live demo while walking you through their lighting, posing and other creative choices.
This portion of the event is a combination of lecture and live demo from Lindsay Adler and AB+DM. There is no shooting during this workshop. If you’d like to photograph models, select the shootout day as well.

Standing as both an educator and working photographer, Lindsay offers unique insight into the industry that is invaluable to up and coming photographers.
The duo behind AB+DM studio — Ahmad Barber and Donté Maurice — have had a meteoric rise to say the least, creating unforgettable imagery and working with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars such as Zendaya, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Sza, Halle Bailey and Lizzo.
In just the last few years, their work has graced the covers of Billboard Magazine, Time Magazine, Vanity Fair, Elle and countless others, solidifying themselves in the industry as a force to be reckoned with.

The Creating Iconic Photographs with AB+DM & Lindsay Adler Workshop includes the evening Q&A
Our workshop is held in Jersey City, NJ, minutes away from the Holland Tunnel and Manhattan.
Our workshops cater to a variety of different experience levels ranging from beginner to advanced level topics and vary depending on the format. A basic understanding of how your camera operates is required for the shootout portion, however you do not need to be overly versed in lighting or equipment as Lindsay provides explanations and instruction. If you still have questions about whether the workshop is for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Transportation and accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee and not included with the price of the workshop.
For the shootout portion of the event you will need to bring a camera and memory cards. You will not need any other equipment.
If you are just attending the demo and lecture on August 5th, you do not need to bring any equipment.
