In this workshop Lindsay will pull back the curtain and share her secrets to creating scroll-stopping images that dazzle the eyes and imagination with her advanced lighting techniques.
Lindsay’s instruction, setups and demonstrations will give photographers a much greater understanding of light that will open up endless possibilities for creativity, complexity and control. This class pushes beyond the basics and introduces photographers to new and exciting techniques.
During this workshop you’ll receive instruction on a range of specialty lighting modifiers and tools that you’ll learn to create amazing results with. Lindsay will also share her techniques when working with gels, color temperature, and color theory.
Whether working with a couple of lights or an extremely complex setup, you’ll learn how each light contributes to a successful result.
During this event you’ll also have the opportunity to work with stunning professional models, incredible styling, and world-class hair and makeup artists – guaranteeing you will walk away with superior images.
By the end of the day you’ll be bursting with so much inspiration and knowledge that you won’t be able to wait to implement these techniques in your next shoot!
Lindsay’s first demonstration will explore extremely soft qualities of light and extremely hard qualities of light. She will cover the tools and techniques for each, as well as conceptual approaches to utilizing each quality of light.Â
Our workshop is held in beautiful Historic Downtown Jersey City, which is minutes away from the Holland Tunnel and Manhattan as well as only 20 minutes from Newark International Airport.
Our workshops cater to a variety of different experience levels ranging from beginner to advanced level topics and vary depending on the format. A basic understanding of how your camera operates is required, however you do not need to be overly versed in lighting or equipment as Lindsay provides explanations and instruction. Transportation to the workshop and accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee and not included with the price of the workshop.
First and foremost you’ll need a camera, since the majority of this workshop is about portfolio building and we’ll be taking plenty of photos.Â
You’ll also want to bring plenty of memory cards, and batteries.
You do not need to bring any lighting equipment or modifiers as that is provided.Â
We prefer attendees not bring tripods as they can be obtrusive and get in the way of others. If you do require something to stabilize your camera, we recommend bringing a monopod.Â
A laptop is also not required, although we do have follow along portions for retouching so you can bring one at your own discretion.Â

We provide a meal option each day of the event as well as snacks and beverages. If you have certain dietary restrictions we have a full sized refrigerator so that you can bring and store your food.
